The Tolman Motorsport prepared and run Mitsubishi Evolution IX race car is currently undergoing major updates for the 2011 Britcar Championship. Whilst the car is being fully stripped down and rebuilt, the company are currently removing excess weight from the car including the complete removal of the production wiring loom and electronics system and replacing it with a custom built lightweight loom from Bremax Electronics and a Powerbox system from Carina Electronics.
Major upgrades are planned to the drivetrain including replacing the cars original H-pattern gearbox with a new sequential 6-speed box. Additionally, whilst the suspension is being rebuilt, competition bushes are being added from new team partner SuperPro.
A final touch will be a major change to the cars appearance with an exciting new livery that has been designed by motorsport design consultants CRW CRE8 Limited. Pictures will be available of the new livery once the rebuild work has been completed.
In the meantime, check back regularly for images of the rebuild work in progress.
